Amazon Web Services is expanding its New Carlisle data center and has applied to fill nearly 10 acres of wetlands.
Locals and environmentalists are urging Amazon to avoid disrupting the wetlands.
Dan Caruso, a local resident, said Amazon was previously informed about the wetlands.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has extended the public comment period before deciding on the project.
Comments can be submitted by March 20 to the Army Corps of Engineers and by March 21 to the environmental management department.
