Heat Advisory goes into effect on Wednesday as heat, humidity soar

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

Dangerous heat is on the way this week.

Our Tuesday looks quiet with a mix of sun and clouds and seasonable temperatures. Highs Tuesday will be in the mid-80s with a touch of humidity.

Heat and humidity will build as we enter mid-week. Part of Michiana will be under a Heat Advisory from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Highs Wednesday will be in the low 90s, but humidity will be very high. This will make us feel as hot as 105!

The dangerous heat will last through Thursday. Highs Thursday will be in the mid-90s, but we will feel hotter than 100 once again.

Temperatures this high make it easy for heat related illnesses, like heat exhaustion and heat stroke, to set in quickly.

Limit your time spent outside and stay as hydrated as possible. If you have to be outside, wear lightweight clothes, take frequent breaks and do not overexert yourself.

No major weather-makers are on the way in the near term. Most days this week will be dry, though we could see a pop-up shower in the afternoon mid-week due to the heat and humidity.

Better rain chances arrive Friday and Saturday. This will take our temperatures down to the mid to upper 80s, however it will still be very humid.

The low 90s return by the start of next week.
