A Niles man has been sentenced for assaulting and seriously injuring another man.
35-year-old Greggery Jason Williams pleaded no contest to assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. He was sentenced in Cass County Circuit Court to 29 months to 10 years in prison.
If eligible, Williams may serve his time in the state’s boot camp program, which could shorten his sentence. The assault happened back in February at a home in Milton Township, where Williams and his girlfriend, Emily Thar, attacked  Thar’s ex and the father of her young daughter.
Leader Publications reports Thar faces a jury trial next month on a related home invasion charge.
