Arrest after Granger standoff on Monday

A man was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff in Granger.

It started around 1 p.m. Monday afternoon at a home in the 16,000 block of Hamilton Street, just off Grape Road north of Mishawaka’s city limits.

Police were searching for 32 year-old Andrew Barrett, and when he refused to comply, SWAT were called in. He was arrested after they breeched the home around 4:30.

Barrett was wanted in several states on a number of charges.
