The City of South Bend has completed a major overnight upgrade to the traffic signals at the busy intersection of Portage Avenue and Cleveland Road.
Crews began work on Monday night and finished early Tuesday morning.
The completed upgrade includes new signal heads, advanced vehicle detection technology, and updated electrical systems designed to improve safety and traffic flow through one of the city’s key northside intersections.
City officials say the improvements are part of ongoing efforts to modernize traffic infrastructure and reduce congestion across South Bend.
