A St. Joseph County police officer was hurt when a vehicle crashed into his vehicle on U.S. 31 as he was investigating cars that slid off the roads.

The officer was taken to the hospital to be check out. Police say the other driver wasn’t injured.

Both northbound and southbound U.S. 31 were closed at separate times, on Saturday, Nov. 29, between South Bend and Plymouth, due to multiple slide offs.
