Rape, corpse abuse charges added in Fort Wayne cemetery slaying

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Fort Wayne man charged with killing a woman in a cemetery now faces additional charges of rape and abuse of a corpse.

WPTA reports the additional charges were filed Tuesday in Allen County against Quinn Albers, who earlier was charged with murder in the Oct. 20 slaying of 30-year-old Katherine Gick. Albers was 20 at the time.

Gick’s naked body was found in a Catholic cemetery with items placed on it and set afire. Albers was arrested not far from the scene, carrying a bag with bloodstained knives and Gick’s photo ID inside.

Albers’ attorney has said he intends to use a defense of mental disease or defect. A message was left for him seeking comment on the new charges.
