Indiana Dunes State Park is one of America's top 10 best State Parks, USA Today says

The Indiana Dunes State Park is one of the 10 best state parks in the United States, according to a new list from USA Today.

A panel nominated 20 state parks to be considered for the list and then USA Today let its readers vote on it during March, according to a news release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

The Indiana Dunes State Park finished seventh on the list.

“Many people, especially those from outside the area, don’t realize what a jewel the park is until they see it for themselves, Brandt Baughman, property manager, said. “We hope this recognition encourages people to come visit and experience the park for the first time.”

The park has also been previously chosen by USA Today as the best place to hike in Indiana and one of the top 51 places to hike in the country.
