Police are still searching for an Elkhart man they say robbed a home in Osceola on Tuesday afternoon, June 14, but ran away as police arrived.

Lee Underwood and other men went to a home in the 55300 block of Apple Road to collect an owed debt, the St. Joseph County Police Department said. When they realized the homeowner wasn’t there, they started taking items.

Police were called to the home after someone saw Underwood point a gun at another man in the driveway. Underwood ran when police showed up just after 12:30 p.m.

The gun turned out to be a pellet gun.

Officers spent several hours searching for Underwood on Tuesday but didn’t find him. Anyone with information about his location is asked to call the St. Joseph County Police Detective Bureau at 574-235-9569.
