INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Evan Bayh was granted a temporary reprieve from disclosing personal financial information that all candidates for Congress must release.

Bayh spokesman Ben Ray said Friday that the former Indiana governor and one-time senator was granted an extension. That allows Bayh to wait until October to disclose how he earns a living, what companies he holds investments in and where he owns property.

Bayh’s campaign says they need to ensure the documents are filed in the “most accurate manner possible.”

Republican opponent Congressman Todd Young accuses Bayh of trying to hide his finances from public view.

Bayh last filled a financial disclosure statement when he was a senator in 2010. It showed he held millions of dollars in stocks and investments.
