Indiana Toll Road crash kills one, injures five

An Ohio woman was killed and five others were hospitalized in a crash on Sunday afternoon.

At about 4:25 p.m. Sunday, a 2001 GMC Yukon was going eastbound on the Indiana Toll Road near the 142 mile marker. The vehicle traveled from the left lane to the right lane. It then went off the south side of the road, according to Indiana State Police.

The Yukon hit a guardrail and rolled onto its driver side. A 32-year-old female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four other passengers were hospitalized and a fifth was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital.

The crash is under investigation. The identity of the woman is being withheld until the family has been notified.
