Ground has been broken on two manufacturing plants that a local recreational vehicle maker is building in Goshen.

Keystone RV will create 200,000 square feet of manufacturing space with the plants, which will be located on the south side of its campus at 3414 Corey Dr. in Goshen, according to the Elkhart Truth.

The plants come at a price tag of $8.6 million for the subsidy to Thor Industries Inc. The first building should be done by March 1, 2017, with the second opening a month later.

The Goshen City Council is considering annexing the land the buildings will be located on. It will be up for second reading and public comment on Dec. 6.

Up to 300 jobs will be added, upping Keystone’s employment level in Indiana to 4,800 jobs over 32 facilities.
