Man killed in train vs vehicle crash near Edwardsburg

A man from Chicago was killed when the minivan he was driving was struck by a train.

It happened on Monday afternoon, Dec. 5.

John Morris, 43, was traveling eastbound on Harris Road, just north of Edwardsburg, according to a news release from Michigan State Police.

Morris disregarded the stop sign at the tracks and was struck by the locomotive, which pushed his vehicle a half-mile down the tracks, according to the release.

Morris was the sole occupant inside the vehicle.
