Road rage attack victim from Granger facing uphill battle to recovery

A Granger man continues on the road to recovery after a brutal road rage attack on Ash Road from an unknown assailant.

Sean Neil came home from the hospital on Friday, after emergency surgery to repair a skull fracture and reduce swelling in his brain. He then spent days on a ventilator, and now the family faces a mountain of hospital expenses now, and the prospect of a long road of rehabilitation, according to the Elkhart Truth.

Neil was on his way home from the Walmart at Ash Road and Old U.S. 20 when the incident occurred north of Ash near the Toll Road. Sean says he inadvertently cut off a green pickup truck, which then tailgated him home.

Not wanting the driver to see where he lived, he had continued to the area of the overpass, hoping the other driver would continue, but the truck stopped behind him.

It’s believed he was struck with a tire iron or similar object before he could even defend himself.
