A third deadly crash in Michiana within the several days has claimed the life of a teenage boy.

The one-vehicle collision happened just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on Buckeye Road between Douglas and Cleveland Roads in Granger, according to WSBT.

The St. Joseph County Police Department Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) say the vehicle was headed northbound when the driver lost control and hit a tree sideways.

A passenger in the vehicle, 16-year-old Cameron Snead, was found dead at the scene. Snead was a student at Penn High School. The driver, a 16-year-old boy, was airlifted to Memorial Hospital after being extricated from the car.

Buckeye Road was closed until late last night, as a result. The investigation is ongoing.
