A South Bend man is facing seven charges after investigators found “over 100” images and videos of child pornography on his computer.

Gerald Nathan Wendt, 51, is charged with six Level 6 felonies and a Class D felony after he was arrested Tuesday.

Investigators with the St. Joseph County Cyber Crimes Unit had their eyes on Wendt since 2013, according to court documents.

In March 2016, investigators say they pulled a child pornography video from his computer. Two months later, his computers were seized. Investigators were able to find evidence that he had over 450 files that were suspected of being child pornography, despite Wendt deleting many of them, according to court documents.

Wendt reportedly admitted to investigators in 2016 that he downloaded the child pornography. Many of the images and videos featured victims that were very young.

He’s being held in St. Joseph County Jail on $35,000 bond. He’s facing up to 18 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
