Second arrest made in South Bend pregnant woman homicide

The girlfriend of the man accused of killing a pregnant South Bend woman has now been arrested in connection with the shooting death…

19-year-old Tiaira Miller faces a count of assisting a criminal, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s report.

Miller allegedly lied to police, saying her boyfriend, Gregory Jones was with her throughout the evening and early morning hours. That would have been around the same time police believe he shot and killed Kenyetta McCurry at her home Sunday in the 3000 block of Michigan Steet.

After first telling police Jones had been with her the entire night, court documents say she later admitted he left her around 3:30 a.m. and she didn’t hear back from him until 8:45 a.m. That’s around the same time two of Miller’s children were spotted wandering the street looking for help after finding their mother dead.

Miller also told police Jones gave her $5,000 in drug money taken from McCurry’s home and ordered her to lie that he’d been with her all night.

Jones insists he didn’t kill McCurry.
