A man was arrested by St. Joseph County police early Monday morning after he allegedly pointed a gun at an officer.

The police report states an attempt was made to pull over a vehicle driven by 35 year-old Jason Keltz of Osceola shortly after midnight. It happened in the 10,000 block of Douglas Road east of Mishawaka.

Rather than pull over, the vehicle pulled into the driveway of a residence and the driver ran toward the house.

The officer gave chase and allegedly saw Keltz point a gun at him as the officer rounded a corner before slipping and falling in the mud. Keltz did not fire and was arrested.

Keltz was also reportedly wearing body armor.
