Kosciusko County man dies after falling in well

An 84-year-old man died after fell into a well at his home on the Barbee Chain of Lakes, according to Indiana DNR Conservation Officers.

Maurice Terry of Lafontaine was cleaning out a well pit on his property on EMS B45 Lane making sure it was operating properly. About a half an hour later his wife found him submerged in the well, conservation officers reported.

She flagged down a passerby who called 911.

The incident is being investigated as a possible drowning. The man’s death appears to be accidental.
