South Bend police searching for person of interest after early morning shooting

One man is dead and police are looking for a person of interest.

South Bend officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of South Logan Street, not far from Bethel College. The shooting reportedly happened after 4 a.m. Sunday, according to the South Bend Police Department.

Officers found 19-year-old Anthony Mobley Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds. He was declared dead once medical personnel arrived.

Several witnesses have interviewed with the County Metro Homicide Unit. It was later determined a second gunshot victim went to an area hospital for treatment. The juvenile was treated and released from the hospital.

Officers are searching for a person of interest in Mobley’s shooting. 19-year-old Tabais K. Davis is considered armed and dangerous.  If anyone has information reference the whereabouts of Davis, they are asked to contact CMHU or the SBPD.
