A tragedy in Porter County.

Police say three North Judson residents, including a child, were killed when an SUV collided head-on with a dump truck, according to The (Northwest Indiana) Times.

It happened along S.R. 8 in Porter County on Tuesday. Police say the SUV’s driver, 45-year-old Amber Fitzgerald, and two passengers, 7-year-old Hannah Cullen and 68-year-old Bonnie Sowles were killed.

A 15-year-old girl riding in the SUV was airlifted to a Chicagoland hospital with injuries.

Investigators believe Fitzgerald swerved to avoid rear-ending the halted vehicles and collided head-on with the westbound truck.
