The man charged with the murder of Tysonia Crawford, 17, has been arrested.
Rahim Brumfield was arrested late Friday night by St. Joseph County Police, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.
Crawford died after being shot, then crashing a car she was driving back in mid-January.
Police were called to the area of Clover Street and Hildreth Road where they found a vehicle, flipped on its side and riddled with bullets. Crawford, who was behind the wheel, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Witnesses told police that Brumfield was Crawford’s ex-boyfriend and that they heard arguing and gunshots before Crawford drove off.
Brumfield threatened Crawford physically and he also threatened to shoot and kill her multiple times over Facebook Messenger, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
Brumfield is being held at the St. Joseph County Jail with no bond, ABC 57 reported.
