Kosciusko Police find drugs, unattended child in mobile home

Two people were arrested after a drug bust in Kosciusko County on Monday.

Around 8:30 a.m., Kosciusko County Detectives and Child Protective Services served a welfare check on a child in a mobile home in Suburban Acres.

During the investigation, a woman wanted on a failure to appear warrant was found inside the home. Traci Craig, 29 of Warsaw, was found with drug paraphernalia and now faces one charge for possession of paraphernalia.

A man was found passed out in a vehicle outside of the home. Identified as Darren Heinzman, 26 of Syracuse, he faces charges of dealing heroin, dealing methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and neglect of a dependent.

This investigation led to another at a home on Pixie Parkway, where a child was found unattended and soiled at approximately 12:45 p.m. The child was being cared for by Heinzman, but was left unattended for an extended period of time.

The investigating is ongoing.
