South Bend shooting sends 17-year-old to hospital

A 17-year-old boy is recovering after a shooting on South Bend’s northwest side Sunday.

The shooting happened at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday near the Elmer and Vasser intersection. South Bend Police say the teen was shot in the shoulder, but the injury was not life-threatening.

He was taken to a local hospital. There’s no information on the shooter.
