Extra police were on the job at Silver Beach in St. Joseph for the 4th of July…

The move was in response to the brawl that took place on the popular beach on Memorial Day, which involved groups of teenagers, went viral online, and landed a 16 year-old in jail.

Many families were concerned about bringing children out for the annual fireworks display, and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department responded.

Even with the careful monitoring of the evening, there were still numerous reports of lost children during the event, which is not uncommon, but all of them were reunited with their parents.

No fights were reported at the end of the night.
