Investigtion into firearm-related injury in Millersburg

A 46-year-old man was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital for a firearm-related injury.

Deputies with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department were called to the 12000 block of County Road 42 around 8:20 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3,  regarding a man who was injured after falling.

The man was later airlifted to the Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for his treatment of his injuries.

While receiving treatment, it was determined that the injuries were sustained as a result of a firearm.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators are working to determine what occurred during the incident.
