The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department says it happened around 5 a.m. Thursday in the area of State Road 13, south of County Road 26.

Deputies believe a fiberglass RV cap came loose, and created debris in the roadway that caused a crash. As police assisted the motorist involved, someone removed the debris before the person responsible could be located. They encourage the people who created the debris to do the right thing and step forward, and ask anyone with information to notify the authorities.
