The City of St. Joseph could soon be added to the list of communities banning marijuana establishments.

City Commissioners heard the first reading of an ordinance that would ban retail shops, processors or commercials growers within city limits, according to The Herald Paladium.

A second reading is set for Monday, Nov. 26, The Heard Paladium reported.

If approved, the ordinance would take effect in early December.

Niles City Council members approve a similar ordinance earlier this week.
