Notre Dame alum, finance killed on way to their own wedding

A Notre Dame alumna and her fiance died in a crash last week while on their way to their own wedding.

Kathryn Schurtz, 35, and her fiancé Joseph Kearney were involved in a crash on Wednesday, Nov. 14, near Reading, Pennsylvania.

Their vehicle was hit from behind by a semi and pushed into the back of another semi.

Traffic was stopped on I-78 due to a delay from an earlier crash.

Schrutz earned an MBA at Notre Dame before taking a job with Oracle in New York City.
