Search underway for suspect who robbed Flagstar Bank on Mishawaka Avenue

Police in South Bend are searching for the person they say robbed the Flagstar Bank in the Riverpark neighborhood.

The heist happened around 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the branch located at Mishawaka Avenue and 30th Street.

Investigators say the suspect was armed with a gun and left with an unknown amount of money. Police describe the suspect as black, wearing a gray sweater, gray pants and sunglasses. They say he left in a gray vehicle.
