Big “boom” heard and felt throughout Kosciusko County

(95.3 MNC)

What was that boom?

That’s what Kosciusko County residents were asking themselves on Sunday, December 30.

Dispatch says they received numerous reports of a boom heard and felt shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The calls came from a wide range of locations throughout the county.

Officers were out investigating, but no official cause has been released.

Some speculate it may have been “frost quake”- a seismic activity caused by a sudden cracking action in frozen ground saturated with water or ice.
