Soon-to-depart St. Joseph County Sheriff Michael Grzegorek may be leaving the sheriff’s office, but he will not be leaving law enforcement.

Grzgorek will become the new commander of the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit shortly after Bill Redman takes over as St. Joseph County Sheriff.

The current commander, Tim Corbett, will take on another role, as a part-time cold-case investigator, starting in February.
