The Goshen Police have released the name of the officer who was involved in the shooting of suspect Joshua Perry on Wendesday following a pursuit.

Lieutenant Michael McCormack is on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation by Elkhart County’s Homicide Unit. The department says McCormack shot at Perry after he led officers on a 40-minute chase that ended at 3rd and Washington in Goshen.

McCormack, a former LaPorte officer, joined the Goshen Police in October of 2014. He’s a decorated officer with one disciplinary incident in his file for failing to notify dispatch that he was exiting his squad car when arresting a suspect.
