Woman taken to hospital after shooting on N. Cushing in South Bend

We’re learning more about the fourth shooting in three days in South Bend.

The woman was shot Monday night at a residence in the 600 block of North Cushing in South Bend. She’s listed in stable condition at Memorial Hospital.

The 24 year-old woman was shot just after 11:30 Monday night, not far from Memorial. She sustained a potentially life-threatening wound to her upper chest. Police say 12 shots were fired, and she was hit by one of them.

A 19 year-old woman also suffered an ankle injury but it was not a gunshot wound.

Officials have not announced any information about the victim, or any possible suspects. There was reportedly an argument before the shooting with an unknown person.
