Elkhart Common Council meeting Feb. 21 to discuss funding proposals

There will be a special meeting of the City of Elkhart’s Common Council next Thursday evening.

The meeting will be Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Building.

On the agenda is an ordinance that would appropriate 150 thousand dollars from the Riverboat Fund to fund the independent third-party assessment of the Elkhart Police Department.

Other ordinances up for discussion would appropriate more than 8 and a half million dollars from various funds for Economic Development loans related to the Great Lakes Capital Project.

The Council expect to hear and take action on the proposals.
