I&M has restored power to nearly 80 percent of the approximately 27,000 customers who lost service as a result of wind storms that swept through our service territory on Sunday, Feb. 24.

More than 400 I&M employees and contractors are working to restore about 1,100 Indiana customers and about 4,500 Michigan customers on Monday.

The utility released estimated times of restoration for Monday:

  • Northeast Indiana (Fort Wayne): 6 p.m. 350
  • North-central Indiana (South Bend and Elkhart): 4 p.m. 400
  • East-central Indiana (Marion/Muncie) 6 p.m. 350
  • Southwest Michigan: 11 p.m. 4,500

A small number of customers in the Buchanan are may be without service after 11 p.m. As power is restored in other regions, I&M is sending crews from those areas to Buchanan.
