Woman arrested on OWI charge after backing into police car

A woman in LaPorte was arrested Saturday night on an OWI charge after police say she backed into a deputy’s vehicle.

The driver, Tylyn Francisco, 27, was backing toward the officer’s car in the driveway of a home in the 2100 block of Joliet Road.

The police were responding to a noise complaint.

According to the officer’s statement he turned on his emergency lights when he saw the car moving toward his vehicle to get it to stop.  Fransisco hit the front end of his car, the officer reported.

Francisco was taken to a hospital and has been charged with three counts of OWI.
