11,000 birds killed in duck farm barn fire near Millersburg

As many as 11,000 chicks died in a massive fire near Millersburg.

The blaze broke out early Tuesday night, April 9, at an Amish duck farm in the 13000 block of County Road 42.

Six departments managed to save most of the birds.

The fire began in one barn and was spread quickly by strong winds.

A nearby home suffered some damage to the siding.

No people were injured.
