South Bend Police busy with several shooting incidents on Monday

South Bend Police are investigating two cases of shots fired.

Both incidents happened on Monday, April 22.

Around 12:30 p.m., police were called to a vehicle crash in the 2600 block of West Bonds Avenue. They also investigated reports of shots fire in that same area, but did not locate any victims of a shooting. There were no injuries stemming from the crash.

A few hours later, officers were called to a hospital after a person walked in with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. That shooting is believed to have stemmed from a fight in the 3300 block of North Portage Avenue. One person was detained for questioning.
