A South Bend man was found guilty on Thursday, May 16, of murdering his wife in front of their children.

The deadly stabbing happened at her home in April of 2017.

The conviction comes after 48 year-old Carl Gathright attempted to claim insanity in the case, which was denied by the judge, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

Police say Gathright stabbed his wife Argusta with a kitchen knife after an argument, ABC 57 reported.

He faces between 45 – 65 years in prison when his sentence is passed on June 17.
