Speed, alcohol may be factors in motorcycle crash on Marcellus Highway

Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in a motorcycle crash that injured a 49-year-old Berrien Springs man.

The collision happened around 1 p.m. on Monday, May 27 near Marcellus Highway and Decatur Road in Wayne Township in Cass County.

The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Marcellus Highway when he failed to negotiate a curve causing him to crash, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

He was transported to Borgess Lee Dowagiac Hospital to be evaluated for his injuries.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, the sheriff’s office reported.
