Bicyclist struck by car in Cass County

An elderly man on a bicycle was injured Friday evening when he was struck by a car.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a crash on M-40 near Brody Street in Marcellus Township around 4 p.m.

A 26 year-old Dowagiac man was behind the wheel of a car that struck  Marcellus man while he was riding his bike without a helmet. He was transported to a hospital in Kalamazoo and there’s no information about his condition.

Alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash.
