South Bend is looking to assist homeowners with lighting enhancements in their neighborhoods with the 2019 Lamppost Lighting Program.

The program offers easy, self-install, solar powered lampposts for residential front yards. It’s a cost-share program available to all homeowners in the city, and two target areas have been identified as having the greatest need.

Residents there will pay only 10 percent of the cost for the lampposts, or 50 dollars. Outside of those areas, the city will pick up half of the 500-dollar cost.

The last day to apply for the program is August 9th. You can do so at http://southbendin.gov/lamppost.
