The new Amazon facility in South Bend’s northwest side has opened for business.

Residents in a once quiet neighborhood north of the airport have found themselves dealing with an increase in traffic and more is on the way.

The new Amazon Distribution Center is in Chet Waggoner Court, between Mayflower Road and Dylan Drive just south of Adams. The South Bend Tribune reports that the more than 84,000 square-foot facility could employ more than 100 people before long, with some jobs paying as well as 25 dollars per hour.
