Man, 33, stabbed to death on Jefferson Street in Elkhart

A 33-year-old Elkhart man was stabbed to death and police are asking for help from the public in finding the person who killed him.

Police were called to the 300 block of W. Jefferson Street around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, in regard to a stabbing.

Officers arrived on scene and found Jimmie Gillam, suffering from at least one stab wound.

Gillam was taken to Elkhart General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers secured the scene and contacted the Elkhart County Homicide Unit.

As of 10 a.m. on Saturday, there were no arrests announced.
