Three people were killed and a fourth person injured in a shooting Wednesday morning at an Elkhart apartment complex.

Dozens of police and SWAT officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Stratford Commons Apartments. That’s in the 2600 block of Oakland Avenue in Elkhart.

The initial report said someone had been shot shortly after 9 a.m. and a woman was transported to the hospital. A woman and two men were killed in the gunfire, and all three were located in the apartments.

The two victims who died are identified as Gail Shield, 66, and John Malk, 66.

The gunman, who authorities say took his own life is identified as Lawrence Faso, 76.

The person who was injured was an employee of the complex.

Elkhart Mayor Tim Neese released a statement calling the shootings “a tragedy that should have been avoided.”

Assuming story on ‘rasing’ teacher pay was written by person with some education..a teacher might have taught that person to use spell check and to proof read…we expect a great deal from teachers, more all the time, isn’t it time we provided them with a living wage AND the necessary physical tools and supplies, to do the job???
