Health Department offers lead exposure advice for Benton Harbor

Residents of Benton Harbor are being encouraged to take additional steps to prevent exposure to lead.

The City announced late last month that the water supply in Benton Harbor is under a continuation of the Action Level Exceedance declared in October 2018.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Berrien County Health Department is repeating their recommendation that all Benton Harbor City water customers, especially those who may be pregnant or have children in the home, take steps to reduce their risk of lead exposure.

Nearly 2000 filters have been provided to city residents, and you can learn more at www.bchdmi.org.
