Appeals court rules in favor of South Bend abortion clinic

The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that a Whole Woman’s Health medication-only abortion clinic should be allowed to operate in South Bend.

On Thursday the justices ordered the district court to modify the current injunction to allow the clinic to operate with a provisional license. This means the state can regulate the facility and allow the clinic to provide abortion services while the case moves forward.

The clinic filed a temporary injunction and temporary restraining order in March, and opened in June without approval from the Indiana Health Department. The state is trying to prevent the clinic from operating.
