Woman Grazed By Gunshot in South Bend

South Bend Police are investigating after a woman was grazed by a gunshot early Friday morning, Aug. 23.

It happened around 12:50 a.m. in the 1200 block of Lincolnway West. The victim was identified as a 42 year old woman.

South Bend Police released the following information:

The South Bend Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1200 block of Lincoln Way West around 12:50 Friday morning.

Officers responded to the area on a ShotSpotter Activation.

Officers found a 42 year old female with a graze wound to the stomach. She was taken to the hospital and treated and released.

This case remains under investigation by the South Bend Police Investigative Bureau and detectives are following up on leads and information on a possible suspect or suspects.
