Shooting investigation on Prairie Street in Elkhart

A man in Elkhart suffered a gunshot wound to the face.

It happened around 10:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, in the 1600 block of Prairie Street.

The victim was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injury to his cheek.

Police have not announced any suspects or arrests. There was no immediate word about the circumstances that led to the shooting.
